Scale and clean refers to a professional dental clean, it is a commonly performed procedure. The purpose is to remove plaque and tartar that is otherwise impossible to remove with your daily tooth brushing and flossing routine at home. It helps to prevent tooth decay and gum disease. It also removes stains from cigarette smoke and drinks such as coffee, tea or red wine.

Our dentists use extra thin and gentle ultrasonic scaling tips that remove plaque/calculus efficiently and comfortably. Followed by, polishing your teeth with a special paste to help remove further staining. Generally, it is recommended to finish with a fluoride treatment after the procedure to protect your teeth against acid and bacteria.
